Ohio Center for Substitute Teachers
Since its inception in 2004, the Ohio Center for Substitute Teachers (OCST) has trained over 2500 substitute teachers with a client satisfaction rating of 98%. Why is this training important? On average, a graduating high school student spends the equivalent of one academic year taught by a substitute teacher.
Through the one-day training provided by OCST, the substitute teachers learn "go to" tools for success in the classroom, including:
* Strategies for effective classroom and student management
* An understanding of professional behavior and ethics
* The basics of lesson planning, interpretation and implementation
* An overview of school expectations and procedures
